See it. snap it. win it.
Official Rules
1. No purchase necessary
Entry is free. No purchase, donation, or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Three winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries. Void where prohibited.
2. Sponsor
The BCD See It. Snap It. Win It. Photo Raffle 2026 (the "Raffle") is sponsored by the Historic South LA Black Cultural District ("BCD" or "Sponsor"). Somerville, Reparations Club, and ORA Cafe are not sponsors of the Raffle.
3. Eligibility
The Raffle is open to people of all ages who have an Instagram account and follow @blackculturaldistrictla. Sponsor will check that each entrant follows the account before the drawing; entries from accounts that don't follow will be disqualified. Instagram requires users to be at least 13, so entrants under 13 may enter using a parent or guardian's account.
Entrants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the guardian section of the entry form and consent to the entry. If a minor wins, the prize will be awarded to the parent or guardian on the minor's behalf.
Not eligible: Raffle organizers (LA Commons staff).
Gift cards are redeemable at the businesses in Los Angeles, so winners should be able to use them there.
4. Entry period
The Raffle begins on [start date] and ends on Friday, November 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (the "Entry Period"). Entries received after the deadline will not be included in the drawing. Sponsor's form timestamp is the official clock for the Raffle.
5. How to enter
Complete the official Raffle entry form at [form link] during the Entry Period. Each completed form submits one photo and counts as one raffle entry.
Entry limit: one entry (one photo) per person. Only a person's first entry will be counted. Using more than one name or email address to enter more than once will disqualify all of that person's entries.
Required information: full name, email address, phone number, Instagram handle, confirmation that you follow @blackculturaldistrictla, and a working link to the photo. Incomplete entries are not eligible.
Photo requirements: the photo must be taken at one of the sites featured in the Paul R. Williams in the BCD Zine (available at [zine link]). Entrants must name the site on the entry form. Photos taken anywhere else are not eligible. The photo must also be the entrant's own original work. Photos that are substantially AI-generated are not eligible. Light editing (cropping, color, exposure) is allowed.
People in photos: anyone clearly identifiable must have agreed to be photographed and to the submission. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must have agreed.
6. Prizes
Three prizes will be awarded, with a total approximate retail value of $225.
Gift card to ORA Cafe | Drawn 1st | Approximate retail value: $25
Gift card to Reparations Club | Drawn 2nd | Approximate retail value: $50
Gift card to Somerville | Drawn 3rd | Approximate retail value: $150
Gift cards are subject to the issuing business's terms. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or substituted, except that Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize becomes unavailable. Winners are responsible for any taxes on their prize.
7. Drawing and odds
On or about Monday, November 23, 2026, Sponsor will draw three winning entries at random from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. The drawing will use a random number generator or a similar random method.
The first entry drawn wins the $25 ORA Cafe gift card, the second wins the $50 Reparations Club gift card, and the third wins the $150 Somerville gift card.
Limit one prize per person. If a person's entry is drawn after they have already won, it is skipped and another entry is drawn.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Each person has one entry.
Your sharing choices on the entry form do not affect your chances of winning.
8. Winner notification
Winners will be contacted directly by email and/or phone on or about Monday, November 23, 2026. For winners under 18, Sponsor will contact the parent or guardian listed on the entry.
A winner must respond within 7 days of the first contact attempt to claim the prize.
If a winner does not respond in time, cannot be reached, or is found ineligible, the prize is forfeited and an alternate winner will be drawn.
Sponsor will arrange e-delivery of the gift card to each winner.
9. Your photo and sharing permissions
Entrants keep full ownership and copyright of their photos. Sponsor will use each photo only as the entrant allows on the entry form:
Carousel post. If you answer "Yes," you give Sponsor permission to post your photo, credited to you, in a social media carousel with other Raffle submissions. If you answer "No," your photo will not be shared publicly.
Winner announcement. After contacting winners directly, Sponsor will post a public announcement of the winners. A winner's name and Instagram handle will appear only as that winner chose on the entry form: full name and handle, first name only, or kept private.
Sponsor and Raffle organizers will view all photos to run the Raffle, whatever the entrant's sharing choices.
By entering, you confirm that the photo is your own original work and that sharing it as you allowed will not violate anyone else's rights.
10. General conditions
Disqualification. Sponsor may disqualify any entry that is not original, breaks these rules, or contains nudity, violence, hate speech, or other offensive content. Sponsor may also disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process.
Changes. If the Raffle cannot run as planned for reasons beyond Sponsor's control, Sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel it. In that case, Sponsor may draw winners from the eligible entries received up to that point.
Release. By entering, entrants (and parents or guardians of minors) agree to release Sponsor and Somerville, Reparations Club, and ORA Cafe from liability for any claims arising from the Raffle or the use of a prize, to the extent permitted by law.
Privacy. Entry information is used only to run the Raffle and contact winners. It will not be sold or shared, except as the entrant allows in Section 9.
Governing law. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of California. Sponsor's decisions on all Raffle matters are final.
Agreement. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules.
11. Questions and winners list
For questions, or for a list of winners after November 23, 2026, contact [kaitwan@lacommons.org]. Winners who ask to stay private will not be named.
